TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: SHEQ Officer within the Corporate Services Division at Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure that the organisation’s SHEQ objectives and targets are met and promote SHEQ awareness
  • Assist SHEQ manager and branches with the implementation and maintenance of the SHEQ management system
  • Assist branches with legal appointments such as safety representatives, first aiders etc.
  • Internal Audits:
    • Conduct internal audits as required
    • Issue audits reports within the determined deadlines
    • Monitor audit findings and recommend corrective and preventive actions
    • Assist with external audits
    • Assist branches with the close out of audit findings
  • Issue non-conformances if/when required
  • Risk Assessments:
    • Assist with external risk assessments
    • Conduct risk assessments if and when required
  • Compile monthly health and safety reports and submit to SHEQ manager
  • Identify unsafe acts, conditions and hazards and take remedial action if required
  • Assist in the formulation of emergency/contingency plans as required
  • Develop and implement safe operating procedures
  • Perform ad-hoc site assessments
  • Conduct regular awareness training
  • Training:
    • Conduct induction training
    • Conduct regular awareness training
    • Conduct SHE representative training
  • Assist branches with Department of Labour inspections

Qualifications and Skills

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Valid passport
  • Computer literate
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and ISO standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Report writing
  • Planning and organising skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
