TWK Agri has the following vacancy available:  Manager (Logistics) at Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

Responsibilities and Duties

Logistics Management
  • Responsible to design and implement logistics strategies for the Group
  • Plan or implement logistics management systems to meet demand of internal and external customers

TWK Fleet
  • Develop business by gaining new contracts, analysing the dynamic changing logistical environment and introduce new solutions.
  • Establish and manage KPI’s for business unit
  • Develop and manage budget for TWK fleet
  • Establish requirement and execute Capital requirements for future sustainability
  • ROI accountability and Performance management
  • Cost reduction initiatives, and continuous improvements
  • Continually try to improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and rising environmental pressures
  • Customer relations and feedback
  • Negotiating and concluding transporter contracts
  • Planning for and negotiating technical difficulties
  • Handle technical details relating to possible international transportation, such as customs regulations and any necessary documentation
  • Review and communicate any changes to Standard operating procedures (SOP), prioritization or any problems

TWK Transport Management System
  • Use data from IT systems to evaluate performance and quality and to plan improvements
  • Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency
  • Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems
  • Drive the development of Standard operating procedures for logistics activities

People Management
  • Manage and develop logistics team
  • Performance management of logistics team
  • Succession planning 

General Management
  • Financial Management - ongoing cost awareness / reduction within scope; evaluate the costs of transportation, services and inventory within any budget or distribution strategy
  • Disaster recovery plan development
  • SHE compliance

Qualifications and Skills

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of Transport management systems will be benificial
  • Relevant diploma / degree in business or logistics
  • At least 7 years’ related work experience
  • Excellent knowledge of management principles
  • Knowledge and understanding of Transport / logistics legislation
  • Self-driven and self-starter
  • Ability to motivate a team
  • Planning, leadership and organizing skills
  • Interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a pressurized environment
